Agency. US President Donald Trump has threatened to impose additional tariffs on import of Indian goods. Stating that India is not a good trading partner, he said they will not do much trade with India.

“We had earlier decided to impose 25 per cent tariff on India but I think in the next 24 hours we will impose more tariffs on them. Trump said That India is continuously buying oil from Russia and it is helping Russia’s war machine. It is also killing many people in Ukraine, he said.

On Monday, Donald Trump had threatened to impose more tariffs in India due to buying oil from Russia. India also responded to this. “The US is still importing uranium hexafluoride for its nuclear industry, palladium, fertilisers and chemicals for the electric vehicle industry from Russia. ”

India is currently one of the largest buyers of Russian oil. After Russia invaded Ukraine in 2022, many European countries reduced trade, after which India became an important market for Russia. Donald Trump did not disclose how many tariffs would be increased.

In a post on social media platform Truth Social, he wrote, “India is not only buying large quantities of oil from Russia, but is also making huge profits by selling a large part of this purchased oil in the open market.” They don’t care how many people russia’s war machine is killing in Ukraine. That is why I will increase tariffs in India. ”

Earlier on July 30, Trump had announced a 25 percent tariff on India. He had also said that if India continues to buy military equipment and oil from Russia, penalties will also be imposed in addition to the current tariffs. Trump has alleged that India’s purchase of oil has helped Russia to continue the war with Ukraine.
