2,675 incidents of disaster in 4 months

Kathmandu. A total of 2,675 disasters have taken place between April and August 15. As many as 4,725 households have been affected by the incidents. A total of 117 people have been killed and 564 injured in the disaster.

According to the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority, 16 people have lost their lives and 21 have gone missing in 198 flood-related incidents during the same period. A total of 1,313 households have been affected by the floods.

According to the NRA data, a total of 281 incidents of landslides have taken place. At least 13 people were killed and 17 others injured. Similarly, 174 incidents of heavy rainfall, 244 cases of lightning, 74 cases of snakebite, 1,066 cases of fire, 158 cases of forest fires, 276 cases of storm, 153 cases of animal attacks, 41 cases of lakes and five incidents of earthquake have been reported. As many as 4,725 households have been affected due to the disaster. Twenty-two people have gone missing.

Similarly, 35 disasters have taken place till August 15 alone. Among them, 13 were from landslides, four from fire, one from flood, five from incessant rain, one from lightning, two from lake and one from animal attack. Six people were injured in the incident.
