Dhanusha. Janakpurdham: A car and a train collided with each other near Thapa Chowk in Brahmapuri of Janakpurdham Sub-Metropolitan City-9 this morning.

The accident took place at 8.30 am when the car (Bagmati Province 0-025 Cha 1290) collided with a train of Nepal Railway en route to Janakpurdham from Piparadhi station in Mahottari. Spokesperson at the District Police Office, Barun Bahadur Singh, said the accident took place in the crossing area near the railway track.

According to local eyewitnesses, there was a loud noise when the train hit the car. There were three people in the car. They sustained minor injuries and the car was badly damaged.

Police spokesman Singh said that the train service was disrupted for some time after the accident and further investigation was underway in this regard.
