Birgunj. Parsa District Court has disposed of 7,244 cases in the fiscal year 2081/82 BS. The court disposed of 57.33 per cent of the total 12,635 cases registered in the last fiscal year.

Justice Deepak Khanal said that the percentage of cases disposed of by Parsa court has increased in the last fiscal year as compared to the previous fiscal year. The Parsa District Court had disposed of 57 per cent of the cases in the previous fiscal year. The disposal of cases filed in the last fiscal year seems to be progress-oriented,” he said, adding, “Not only the court has a single role in disposing of cases, but the role of other stakeholders is also important.” ’’

A total of 6,092 cases were transferred from the previous fiscal year and 6,543 new cases were registered in the last fiscal year. Similarly, the number of cases over 18 months in the court is 367 and the number of cases over two years is 334. Justice Nanda Kishore Prasad Yadav said the court has also been working as per the five-year strategic plan of the judiciary.

“In the current fiscal year, we have set a target of registering around 13,468 cases which have been transferred from the last fiscal year and new ones will be registered,” he said, adding, “We have set a target of disposing of 8,837 cases i.e. 66 percent of the target in the current fiscal year.” ’’

Judge Prabhakar Kumar Mallik said that there is a plan to dispose of the case with a target as per the annual action plan. The court has 11 judges. Justice Madhav Prasad Ghimire has been able to dispose of 983 cases in the last fiscal year. He was honoured with a shawl in the middle of a program on Sunday.

Judge Deepak Khanal has disposed of 939 cases. Justice Nanda Kishore Prasad Yadav disposed of 762 cases, Justice Ananda Prasad Shrestha 630 and Justice Pramesh Pokharel 605 cases. Similarly, Justice Uttam Silwal has disposed of 624 cases in Kathmandu and Parsa, while Justice Upendra Keshar Khanal has disposed of 657 cases in Siraha and Parsa.

Justice Mohan Subedi has disposed of 584 cases, Justice Mukunda Acharya 538, Kamal Kanta Joshi 566 and Justice Rudra Prasad Subedi 501 cases during the year. The Parsa District Court has imposed a fine of 956 years, three months and one day in the last fiscal year. Till last fiscal year, 3,558 years, 11 months and 6 days of imprisonment was fixed, while in the last fiscal year, the target was to dispose of 843 cases per judge.

Justice Khanal said that the court will decide on the basis of the procedure and procedure of the court while delivering justice.
