Ravi Lamichhane remanded to judicial custody

Kathmandu. An order has been issued to keep RASP President Rabi Lamichhane in custody. Rupandehi: A petition seeking the release of Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) President Rabi Lamichhane, who is lodged in Rupandehi jail on charges of cheating a Supreme Cooperative, has been rejected.

Judge Narayan Prasad Sapkota’s bench number 10 was present for monday’s hearing. The order, which came after the arguments of the lawyers on both sides, has come as per the demand.

On the basis of Section 68, 69, 71 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, 2074, Section 131 (a) of the Cooperative Act, 2074 and the precedent principle enunciated by the Honorable Supreme Court, the following petition was filed to issue an order of Section 68, 69 271 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, 2074.

Earlier, it was postponed on Tuesday and Wednesday itself. Lamichhane had filed an application at the Rupandehi District Court on Monday seeking bail.
