Kathmandu. Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli is holding discussions with the Minister for Agriculture and Livestock Development, secretaries and officials of the concerned bodies today on the issue of smooth supply of chemical fertilizers and the status of agriculture.
Minister for Agriculture Ramnath Adhikari, Secretary Dr Govinda Prasad Sharma and officials of the Agricultural Materials Company have been summoned to the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers at Singhadurbar in the afternoon to discuss the issue.
Prime Minister Oli has been giving high priority to resolving the problems after complaints that farmers did not get fertilizers on time even when there was a stock of fertilizers required by them and more fertilizers continued to arrive.
In a discussion with the Agriculture Minister and the concerned officials before the start of the farming season, PM Oli directed them to work in such a way that there is no shortage of fertilizers and to open a production factory of chemical fertilizers in Nepal and bring a plan to increase the production and use of organic fertilizers.
