Kathmandu. President Ram Chandra Poudel has said that the responsibility of building a prosperous Nepal has come on the shoulders of the youth by standing on the foundation of federal democratic republic.

Addressing a programme organized on the occasion of International Youth Day-2025 at the National Hall here today, President Poudel said he was confident that the youths have been able to fulfill their age-old responsibility of building a prosperous Nepal. Stating that he and his generation were committed to bringing the political system to a conclusion by bringing it to the status of federal democratic republic in the youthful country, he said that the federal democratic republican system was established after passing a period of revolution and change.

Recalling his youth, President Poudel said, “At this moment, I am remembering the precious moments of many ups and downs of my youth. Born into an ordinary farming family in Bahunpokhara of Tanahun, it was not easy to give meaning to the revolution and change that grew up in my youth against underdevelopment, poverty, backwardness and autocracy. But for this, i and my generation did not care about the struggle, sacrifice, lack, imprisonment. And, as we reached the stage of today’s federal democratic republic, our lives were devoted to taking the political system to a conclusion. After a period of revolution and change, we have been able to establish a federal democratic republican system. ’

Stating that Nepali youths have proved their mettle in various areas of technology-based innovation, sports, entertainment and entrepreneurship including information technology, President Poudel said, “Everyone should move forward hand-in-hand to steer the country towards a bright future of innovation in line with the concept of sustainable development.” ’

Stating that the government has given priority to concessional credit facilitation, creating environment for youth-friendly investment, innovation and expansion of entrepreneurship to provide opportunities to nepali youths accustomed to technology at home, he said that participation, participation and awareness of the youths were necessary to make it productive.

Stating that it has become the need of the hour to work in the field of entrepreneurship and self-employment, President Poudel said that the main task of the day is to fulfill the dream of development, good governance and prosperity desired by the younger generation in the modern era of globalization and rapid development of information technology. Stating that entrepreneurship is the basis of economic development, he said it was necessary to give priority to policies and programmes for the expansion and promotion of entrepreneurship to attract youths to employment by stopping their migration abroad.

President Poudel said the International Youth Day was the basis of common celebration and solidarity for youth participation and empowerment and it was felt that it emphasized on sustainable development, unity and solidarity through youth participation from local to international level.

Minister for Youth and Sports Tejulal Chaudhary, Executive Vice President of National Youth Council Surendra Basnet and Un Resident Representative in Nepal were present on the occasion.
