Kathmandu. The government has decided to approve the ‘National Artificial Intelligence (AI) Policy, 2082’. The decision submitted by the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology was approved by a meeting of the Council of Ministers held on August 15.
Minister for Communications and Information Technology, Prithvi Subba Gurung, who is also the spokesperson of the government, made public the decision to approve the ‘AI Policy-2082 BS’ at a press conference at the Ministry today. The government has decided to appoint Sandeep Rai of Panchthar as the vacant general manager of Rastriya Samachar Samiti (RSS).
Spokesperson Gurung said that the government has decided to fix the consumption fee of Nagdhunga tunnel. He said, “The cost of car and van has been fixed at Rs 65 and Rs 60 when going to Kathmandu, Rs 115 and Rs 80 when a minibuser truck arrives in Kathmandu, Rs 260 and Rs 200 when a bus truck comes to Kathmandu, Rs 600 for heavy equipment and Rs 2,500 when it goes to Kathmandu.”
Minister Gurung said that the Council of Ministers has decided to approve the visit of Chief Minister of Madhes Province Satish Kumar Singh to Switzerland from September 15 to 21 to participate in a program on ‘A Study Tour on Inter-Governmental Cooperation and Competition in the Swiss Federal System’.
Approval will be given to Deputy Auditor General Bindu Bista to participate in the Asia Organization of Supreme Audit Institutions (ASOSAI) Breaking Upscald SAI Support (WUSS) Workshop to be held in the Philippines from October 10 to 10, 2019. Spokesperson Gurung informed that the government has decided to fix the minimum support price of coarse paddy at Rs 3,463.81 per quintal and medium paddy at Rs 3,628.33 per quintal for the current fiscal year.
Approval will be given to the Minister for Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation to participate in the ‘Global Infrastructure Cooperation Conference 2025’ to be held in Seoul city of Republic of Korea from September 31 to September 15, dr. Ramesh Prasad Chaulagain (Bhaktapur) will be appointed as the vacant expert member of the National Cooperative Regulatory Authority, and 7,485 square meters of government land administrative building of the erstwhile Dam VDC-4 of Bajura district, registered in the name of the Government of Bajura district. Minister Gurung informed that the government has decided to give permission to use Bajura.
According to him, the Ministry of National Research And Investigation will approve the use of 0-14-0-2 land of the erstwhile Cooperative and Poverty Myanglung VDC-9 for the construction of the office building of the District Office Tehthum, 23055 square meters of land of the then Dam VDC Ward No. 4 of Bajura district for the construction of the building of Dhulachaur Health Service Center. It has been decided to give permission to use Bajura.
To approve the Minister of Physical Infrastructure and Transport to participate in the ‘Ministerial Round Table, Session Doing the Asia-Pacific Regional Road Safety Conference’ to be held in Manila, Philippines from September 24 to 26, to approve the foreign visit of a Major General of the Nepal Army and to extend the tenure of one assistant general, to participate in the ‘Second Global Summit of School Mills’ to be held in Fortaleza, Brazil, organized by ‘School MillskoAlison’. It is the cabinet’s decision to give approval to the secretary of the Ministry of Science and Technology, he said.
Spokesperson Gurung informed that the Cabinet has decided to approve 725 temporary posts of officer level required in the fiscal year 2082/83 BS for employment service center National Vocational Training Center (Bhainsepati), Vocational Training Center (Butwal) and Vocational Training Center (Itahari) at the local level under the Ministry of Labor, Employment and Social Security.
According to him, the government has decided to give approval to the Minister of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation to participate in the 40 second session of the Assembly of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) to be held in Montreal, Canada from October 18 to 27, issue an order to remove obstacles under the Public Procurement Act, 2063, and approve the ‘Guidelines-2082’ related to the operation, management and maintenance of public infrastructure through service providers.
