Kathmandu. The Meteorological Forecasting Division has said that the monsoon trough is located in the southern part of the country and the monsoon is gradually weakening in the country.

The weather will be generally cloudy in the hilly regions and partly cloudy in the rest of the country this afternoon. According to the Division, moderate rainfall is likely to occur at some places of the hilly region and at one or two places of the Tarai region including the Far-Western Province.

Similarly, there will be generally cloudy in the hilly regions and partly cloudy in other parts of the country tonight. Light to moderate rain is likely to occur at a few places of Gandaki Province, Bagmati Province, Lumbini Province and Karnali Province and at a few places of Karnali Province and Sudur Pashchim Province.

The Division has also urged all to remain alert and prepare for the risk of landslide and debris flow in the hilly areas of the country due to the rain, the water level in the big and small rivers and rivulets may rise and the transport sector may be affected.
