Police not a boss, it is a servant of the people: PM Oli

Janakpurdham. Kathmandu: Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has directed the Nepal Police deployed for the peace and security of the Nepali people to act as a servant of the people and not as a ruler. He said this while addressing a function organized after inaugurating the newly constructed building of Madhes State Police Office in Janakpurdham today.

The Prime Minister said nepal police should work as a servant of the people and not as a boss to maintain good governance and peace and security in the country. Stating that the police should work in a just manner so that no one is forcibly framed, he said that no one should be implicated and tortured like in the Rana regime and the king’s panchayat system.

Pm Oli said, “At that time, false allegations were made to protect the regime. At present, some elements in the country are spreading chaos and spreading the illusion of a new power and doing chaotic activities in the country. ’

Expressing the view that the elements spreading chaos in the society have no contribution in bringing democracy in the country, pm Oli stressed the need for the society and the nation to punish the elements who are lying. Stating that democracy has come to the country through the great sacrifice, penance and sacrifice of the people, he said all democratic forces should work to protect and sustain democracy.

“The Nepal Army is working to protect the nation and the Nepal Police should honestly protect and serve the people through its capabilities and skills,” he said. He stressed the need for the police organisations to work sincerely to curb the increasing criminal activities, theft and dacoity, drug use and various thefts, smuggling, illegal human trafficking in the border areas and to control revenue leakage.

Stating that the present government formed by the joint efforts of the Nepali Congress and the Communist Party of Nepal (UML) would provide stability, peace, security and good governance in the country, pm Oli said the police should focus on controlling corruption and serving the people at the earliest. He expressed happiness that the Madhes state government has constructed this building to provide timely physical facilities to the Nepal Police.

On the occasion, Chief Minister of Madhes Province Satish Kumar Singh complained that lack of police adjustment was causing problems in carrying out peace and security works in the province. Stating that the previous government was engaged in the development of the province by collecting a lot of revenue in the last seven years of the formation of the Madhes state government, he demanded the Prime Minister to come up with a concrete plan to solve the chure problem.

Chief of Nepal Police and Inspector General of Police Deepak Thapa said that Nepal Police was working with high morale to maintain peace, security and security in the country and to protect the life and property of the people.

On the occasion, Chief of Madhes Province Police and Inspector General of Police Uma Prasad Chaturvedi informed about the law and order situation in Madhes province. There are around 9,000 police personnel in Madhes province, which has 10,000 police personnel, he said.

There is a total population of 6.2 million in Madhes province but around 37,400 police personnel are needed for this purpose, he said. On the occasion, PM Oli also inspected the state police building inaugurated by him.
