Kibh. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky will visit the United States on Monday and hold important talks with US President Donald Trump on ways to end “war and violence” in Ukraine.

In an official statement on Saturday, Zelensky said, “I will be in Washington on Monday, D. C. I will meet with President Trump and discuss in detail everything necessary to prevent war and murder. I express my heartfelt gratitude for receiving this honourable invitation. ’

He described the initial talks with Trump as “serious and fruitful” and said the talks had become more effective with the participation of European leaders in the later stages.

The meeting comes after us President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin held talks in Alaska three days ago. There has been no clear ceasefire announcement or concrete agreement at the Alaska meeting so far.

President Zelensky called on European partners to participate in all stages of negotiations and reiterated that he was fully prepared for trilateral talks with Trump and Putin. “Important issues need to be discussed directly at the level of the leaders,” he said, adding that the framework of the trilateral talks would be effective and appropriate. ’

The high-level meeting is expected to accelerate efforts to end the Ukrainian war and have a positive impact on international peace initiatives.
