Kavrepalanchowk. Kavrepalanchowk: Residents of two wards of Bhumlu rural municipality in Kavrepalanchowk have got their land titles after 50 years. Minister for Land Management, Cooperatives and Poverty Alleviation, Balram Adhikari, has started distributing land parcels on Tuesday.

Since 2032 BS, the residents of two wards of the rural municipality (then Bhumlu and Phalante VDCs) have been waiting for lalpurja. In the initial phase, 431 land owners of Bhumlu rural municipality-7 and 8 have been distributed land parcels. On Tuesday, 185 land owners of ward no. 7 and 246 land owners of ward no. 8 were given land ownership certificates.

For this, the Survey Office Kavrepalanchowk had been working with the survey team at the local level since June 1, 2071 BS. Gokul Baskota, lawmaker from Kavrepalanchowk and the then minister, had inaugurated the field office at Bhumlu rural municipality in 2076 BS.

According to the office, 450 red parts of the two wards have been constructed at present, while an equal number of red parts are yet to be investigated. Office Chief Ashok Kumar Bhusal said that 300 parts should be made in ward no. 7 and 600 in ward no. 8.

Both Bhumlutar and Phalante VDCs had been lying in both Bhumlutar and Phalante VDCs when the Pipaltar VDC split. At that time, there was a dispute after both the VDCs claimed agricultural land.

The work could not be carried out due to the dispute between the team that went to survey in 2032 BS and the leadership of the two VDCs. Even in 2035 BS, the locals could not get land titles as the work was not completed.
