Kathmandu. Kathmandu: The Kathmandu Valley Development Authority (KDA) is preparing to take strict action against illegal plotting and uncontrolled urbanization taking place in the Valley.

The District Commissioner’s Office, Kathmandu, under the NRA, in a press conference on Wednesday informed about the unsystematic and illegal plots taking place in different places of Kathmandu district.

According to the NRA, essential services like ambulances and fire engines could not be reached due to the narrow roads in New Road, Basantapur and other places. There is also a shortage of public space. “Due to unplanned plotting and fragmentation, the city has become chaotic and the natural beauty is disappearing. The AUTHORITY said in a statement.

The AUTHORITY has been basing various legal provisions to control illegal plotting. However, despite such legal provisions, the land revenue and measurement offices do not recognize the ACT of the AUTHORITY and do not want to implement it.

According to the NRA, the problems of road narrowing, not leaving open space and disappearing the land to be allotted in the name of the state are increasing due to the fragmentation done without planning permission. Stating that plots are also being carried out on steep land, the NRA has warned that such activities will lead to natural disasters.

The NRA has made it clear that from now on any plot of land in the Valley can be done only after taking the planning permission. The NRA has urged all to plot only as per the nra’s standards and monitor the municipalities accordingly for the public interest and safe urban life.
