Kathmandu. Kathmandu: Speaker Devraj Ghimire today called on a Pakistani parliamentary delegation at Singha Durbar. The Speaker paid a courtesy call on a Pakistani parliamentary delegation who arrived in Nepal to attend the Hindu Kush Himalayan Parliamentary Conference held in Kathmandu on Tuesday.
Welcoming the delegation led by Pakistani lawmaker Munaja Hasan, Speaker Ghimire briefed them about the friendly relations and possibilities of regional cooperation between the two countries. During the meeting, he stressed the need to move ahead by making the challenges faced by the mountainous region in climate change, sustainable development and people’s livelihood as a common agenda.
Stating that there are possibilities of trade, connectivity and tourism between the two countries, the Speaker opined that parliamentary cooperation could be made in this regard. Delegation leader Hasan thanked Nepal for successfully concluding the Hindu Kush Himalaya ‘Parliamentarians Meet-2025’. He appreciated the role played by Nepal in mitigating the impact of climate change and preserving mountain ecology.
