Chitwan. The District Committee of the Land Problem Resolution Commission has awarded land ownership certificates to 259 landless Dalits, slum dwellers and disorganized residents of the district.

According to COMMISSION Chairman Iman Singh Moktan, 130 people from Ratnanagar municipality and 129 from Bharatpur metropolitan city have been given land ownership certificates. A total of 51,000 people have applied for land ownership certificates. One person has applied up to five times.

Work is underway to distribute certificates to 400 landless people. So far, certificates of 150 people have been prepared and the target is to prepare 400 by next September. The Commission is working in coordination with the local levels.
