Kathmandu. Monsoon has become active in some parts of the country due to the increase in the influence of water vapor-rich winds from the Bay of Bengal. According to the Meteorological Forecasting Division, the monsoon trough is currently located in the vicinity of the low pressure area.

It will be generally cloudy throughout the country today with chances of light to moderate rainfall in the hilly regions of all the provinces. Heavy rainfall is also likely to occur at some places of Koshi, Gandaki and Sudurpaschim provinces.

Similarly, it will be partly to generally cloudy throughout the country tonight. There is a possibility of heavy rainfall at one or two places of Koshi and Sudurpaschim provinces.

The Division has urged all to remain alert and make preparations, predicting that there is a risk of landslides and debris flow of rain, the water level in big and small rivers and rivulets may rise and the transport sector may be affected.
