Kathmandu. Members of the State Affairs and Good Governance Committee congratulated newly elected President Ishwori Devi Neupane and suggested to take forward the bill pending in the committee.

In today’s meeting of the committee, the members suggested to move ahead by learning from the mistakes made in the past in the formulation of the bill. They urged the committee to immediately forward the Commission for investigation of Abuse of Authority( CIAA), construction-oriented materials management and police bill pending in the committee.

Nepal Communist Party (Unified Socialist) lawmaker Rajendra Pandey urged the government to be serious in the formulation of the bill.

Nepal Communist Party (Maoist Centre) lawmaker Durga Rai urged the government to pay attention to the formulation of the bill so that there are no errors like in the past. “The committee should pass the report only after clarifying the clause÷sure of the bill,” he said, adding, “Let us immediately move forward the under-consideration of the ciaa, construction-oriented and police bills by holding a meeting of the committee when the House is not in session.” ’

Nepal Communist Party (UML) lawmaker Padam Giri stressed the need for the committee to move ahead with the bill by fixing the deadline. “The bill should be forwarded within a specific time, till that time, the complaints of the citizens will continue. We should not teach good governance lessons to others, but we should not follow it,” he said.

Janata Samajbadi Party Nepal lawmaker Prakash Adhikari said that good governance should be followed by the committee. “The bill brought to the committee should not be stuck. Either the government should withdraw the bills or else the committee should proceed with the process,” he said.
