Kathmandu. Similarly, Minister for Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation Deepak Khadka said that policy reforms have been made to make the private sector investment-friendly. Speaking at an interactive session on ‘Ensuring Daily Consumer Goods – Consumer Rights Are Our Concern’ organized by the Department of Supplies and Consumers of the Nepali Congress at Birtamod of Jhapa today, he said that policy reforms have been made to develop the country by taking the private sector along.
Similarly, khadka is a party that understands that the private sector should always be taken along, for which many policy reforms have been made, he said, adding that the private sector should be ready to pay revenue honestly. Energy Minister Khadka said that the present government has been formed by the two big parties of the parliament for the economic development of the country and to boost the stagnant economy.
“There is a history of two big parties coming together to resolve the crisis in the country and the present government was formed for the economic development of the country,” he said. There is no need for the private sector to panic and panic, he said. Although the political ideologies between the Nepali Congress and the CPN-UML are different, the two parties have stood together for the economic development of the country and to improve the living standard of the people, he said. Minister Khadka said that a stable government has been formed and a lot of work has to be done. He said that investment has increased now compared to the past.
He said the party, which has no purpose, agenda and plan, was making noise and misleading the people. It is the responsibility of the Congress party to take the truth to the people, he said. Minister Khadka said that an environment of investment has been created in the country and more reforms have been carried out than in the past.
Minister Khadka said that after he became the Energy Minister, he had issued the Energy Development Roadmap-2081 for the development of the country’s energy sector and set a clear target to produce 28,500 MW of electricity by 2035 and to consume 13,500 MW of electricity produced in the country and sell the remaining 15,000 MW to neighbouring countries like India and Bangladesh. He said rs 6.4 trillion would be needed to meet the target.
He said that bangladesh has been able to export electricity during his tenure despite rumors and talk for the last two decades. Currently, about 1,200 MW of electricity is being exported to India alone, he said. He said that the government has earned more than Rs 17 billion from the sale of electricity.
He said that the electricity generation has increased and the lights go off for some time while rebuilding the structure of the transformer as it is unable to bear the load of production. He said that load shedding will not happen anymore. Energy Minister Khadka said that the government has taken forward the task of electrification of agriculture in Madhes with priority. He said that the country is becoming prosperous economically.
