Kathmandu. Kathmandu: The Ministry of Communications and Information Technology has decided to shut down social networks including Facebook, which are not registered in Nepal, from today. The decision was taken at a meeting held at the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology.

A meeting of the Council of Ministers held on September 17, 2018 had directed to list the social networks operating in Nepal within a week.

After ignoring it, the ministry has made it impossible to run social media from today. The ministry has forwarded the decision to The Nepal Telecommunication Authority for implementation.
