Kathmandu. Minister for Foreign Affairs Dr Arzu Rana Deuba has said nepal and the UNITED States enjoy trust-based and sustainable and historic relations.
Speaking at a ceremony organised to hand over two sky truck helicopters provided by the United States to the Nepal Army here today, Minister Rana said the cooperation was a symbol of enduring friendship and cooperation between Nepal and the UNITED States.
“The United States is a development partner and reliable friend of Nepal in strengthening democratic governance, humanitarian assistance, disaster management, peacekeeping and capacity building,” he said. Stating that Nepal’s friendship and cooperation with the US has always been dedicated to the cause of peace, stability and human service, Minister Rana thanked the US government and the American people for their continued support to Nepal.
On the occasion, Minister Rana lauded the Nepal Army for its continuous dedication and discipline as well as unwavering commitment to nationalism, world peace and security.
Us Ambassador dean R Thompson handed over the sky trucks to Minister for Foreign Affairs Dr Rana, Defence Minister Manbir Rai and Chief of Army Staff Ashok Raj Sigdel. The sky truck can also be used as an air ambulance and service during disasters and rescues.
