Kathmandu. CPN (Maoist Centre) Deputy General Secretary Barshaman Pun has said that Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli should take responsibility for the killings and suppression during the Genji movement.

Pun said that Oli would be responsible for the incident as it was due to his arrogance and authoritarian character. He demanded that Oli should resign immediately on moral grounds.

“Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli and the incompetent government led by him should take responsibility for the use of force and murder during the movement of the Genji generation,” Pun said, adding, “Oli’s authoritarian, autocratic and autocratic tendency is responsible for this situation.” The incident has exposed Oli’s true character. He should resign immediately because he has lost the morality of being in office. ’

Pun, who is also the former Finance Minister, supported the genuine demands raised by the Genji generation and demanded that the government lift the ban on social media today itself. “Restrictions imposed on social media that curtail freedom of expression are unacceptable,” he said.

Stating that peaceful demonstration was the constitutional right of the people, Pun demanded an independent and judicial investigation into the excessive use of force and suppression on the demonstrating youths.

Pun also appealed to the agitating Jenji not to vandalize and set fire to public or people’s property. Pun said that as Genji is the future of the country, they expect restraint and discipline from the society. Pun also appealed to the people to be aware of the possibility of invisible elements manipulating to misuse the Genji movement.

Paying tribute to the deceased, Pun urged the government to make arrangements for free medical treatment to those injured in the agitation along with wishing them speedy recovery.
