Kathmandu. On Tuesday, the second day of the Zenji protests, 60 branches of banks were damaged in incidents of vandalism and arson across the country.
Anil Sharma, chief executive officer of Nepal Bankers’ Association, however, said that the details of the loss are awaited.
“We have not been able to get the details of the damage,” said Sharma, chief executive officer of the association, “But we have been informed that 60 branches of banks across the country have been damaged.” ’
A branch of the Rastriya Banijya Bank at Baneshwor was vandalized and cash looted on the night of July 7.
According to Saroj Kaji Tuladhar, former president of Nepal Financial Institutions Association, the bank branch of ICFC Finance in Bouddha was also vandalized.
Full details of the damage will take some time.
