Kathmandu. The life in the Kathmandu Valley has become normal after the ‘Jenji’ movement. Although prohibitory orders and curfew are still in place for a certain time in order to maintain peace and order, daily life has returned to normal in the morning and evening.

With this, government offices, banks and financial institutions, and businesses are opening. Four-wheelers and two-wheelers, government and private vehicles have also started plying smoothly on the roads.

Normal life has become easier as patrolling of security bodies including the Nepal Army has also ensured security to the citizens. Central Police Spokesperson Deputy Inspector General of Police Binod Ghimire shared that the displaced police offices have resumed service from the police offices.

Especially in the urban areas of Kathmandu, there was a rush to buy daily essentials early in the morning. The entrepreneurs had gone to Kalimati, Balkhu, Machhapokhari, Lagankhe among other areas to collect vegetables, fruits and dairy products and sell them.

Sanitation and waste management of buildings and structures torched and vandalized during the agitation have been intensified. Similarly, the employees of the ministries and offices inside Singha Durbar are also working to ease the service delivery and create an environment conducive for daily work.

While most of the people on the streets were talking about the damage caused by the movement, they could be heard expressing concern and sorrow over the burning of Singha Durbar, a major political-administrative center of archaeological importance. The damage to the Parliament House, Singha Durbar and commercial buildings was also seen in the fire.

Sanitation work is being carried out at the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers, Home Ministry, Ministry of Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation, Ministry of Finance, Education, Science and Technology, Ministry of Federal Affairs and General Administration, Ministry of Health and Population, Ministry of Physical Infrastructure and Transport.
