Kathmandu. Newly-appointed Prime Minister Sushila Karki is compelled to hold the election to the House of Representatives within the next 6 months.
President Ram Chandra Poudel has appointed Karki to the post of Prime Minister with the condition that elections should be held within the next 6 months. He took the oath of office and secrecy today.
Addressing the difficult and extraordinary situation in the country, President Poudel said that it is necessary to follow and protect the Constitution of Nepal and promote Nepal’s national unity by exercising the inherent constitutional powers of the President as per the Constitution of Nepal as per the wishes and aspirations expressed by the younger generation and also on the basis of consultation with the political parties and stakeholders. Karki has been appointed as the Prime Minister of the interim government with the aim of holding the next election of the House of Representatives within 6 months.
