Kathmandu. Chief Justice Prakash Man Singh Raut has administered the oath of office and secrecy to newly appointed Attorney General Sabita Bhandari. Chief Justice Raut administered the oath of office and secrecy to newly appointed Attorney General Bhandari at the Supreme Court today.

President Ram Chandra Poudel on Sunday appointed Bhandari to the post of legal advisor and attorney general. She is the first woman Attorney General in Nepal’s history.

President Poudel appointed him to the post on the recommendation of Prime Minister Sushila Karki. Prior to this, Attorney General Ramesh Badal was the Attorney General. Bhandari became the Attorney General after her resignation. Bhandari is the daughter of senior advocate Krishna Prasad Bhandari. Prior to this, she was also the Information Commissioner.
