Kathmandu. At present, the monsoon low-pressure trough is present around the general location and there is also influence of wind carrying water vapor from the Arabian Sea and the Bay of Bengal.

According to the Meteorological Forecasting Division of the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology, the weather will be generally cloudy throughout the country towards the afternoon with the possibility of moderate rain in some places of the hilly region including Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini and Sudurpaschim provinces and at some places of the rest of the areas. There are chances of heavy rain at one or two places of Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini, Karnali and Sudurpaschim provinces.

Similarly, the weather will be generally cloudy throughout the country tonight with chances of moderate rain in some places of the hilly region of Koshi, Lumbini and Sudurpaschim provinces and at some places of the rest of the country. There are chances of heavy rain at one or two places of Koshi and Sudurpaschim provinces.

The Division has forecast that there is a risk of occurrence of landslide and debris flow due to rainfall, the water level in big and small rivers and rivulets may rise, affecting the transport sector.
