Kathmandu. KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba has described the Constitution of Nepal as an important achievement of the revolution, struggle and democratic movements waged by the Nepali people from time to time.
Issuing a message on the occasion of the Constitution Day today, Prime Minister Oli said the new constitution was promulgated through the Constituent Assembly as a result of historic revolution, struggle and people’s movement for the establishment and reinstatement of democracy in the country. On the occasion, NC President Deuba paid tribute to all known and unknown martyrs who sacrificed their lives, and paid tribute to them on the occasion of the Constitution Day.
In his message, President Deuba said the constitution was promulgated by the Constituent Assembly (CA) on September 19, 2015 under the leadership of Nepali Congress and by the elected representatives of the people. This constitution has ensured the rights of all by adopting universal values of democracy, human rights and social justice. “Every citizen has been celebrating the Constitution Day every year with enthusiasm and enthusiasm, commemorating this historic day marking the completion of a decade of the promulgation of the new constitution,” reads the message.
On this auspicious occasion of the Constitution Day, President Bhandari paid tributes to the great sons of the country who laid down their lives in the political and social revolutions, struggles and movements that took place time and again for establishing a multiparty parliamentary democratic system based on justice, equality, freedom and pluralism.
