Kathmandu. A book ’70 Years of Good Relations’ published by Nepal-China Media Forum has been launched in Beijing on Friday.
The book released at a function organized at the Embassy of Nepal in Beijing today, is a document on Nepal-China relations.
More than 80 Chinese academicians attended the event jointly organized by the Embassy of Nepal and Nepal China Media Forum.
Chinese academicians who are conducting studies on Nepal in various universities in China praised the book as a milestone in the friendly relations between the two countries.
Nepali Ambassador to China Dr Krishna Prasad Oli said it was a matter of pride for the Embassy of China to release such an informative book. He also extended his gratitude to Nepal China Media Forum and its Chair, Kishor Shrestha, for documenting the significant achievements of 70 years between Nepal and China.
He said that this book has kept the present and future generations alive by keeping the history alive by taking important steps after the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries.
Commenting on the book, Qiu Qoming of the Confucius Institute said that this book is a good and authoritative source for all those who are interested in China and Nepal. “Since the book is available in both Nepali and Chinese languages, it will be easy for the readers of both countries,” he said.
Professor of Xiamen University, Qiyang Xiaoxian, praised the book as it has been published at a crucial time and has covered the various movements between China and Nepal.
Another speaker Ran Qikang, Deputy Secretary General of Yunnan International Economic, Trade and Cultural Cooperation, said that it was a very difficult task to publish 70 years of history in a single book in Chinese and Nepali languages, and congratulated Nepal China Media Forum and its Chairman Kishor Shrestha for making such a task ।

On the occasion, Chairman of Nepal China Media Forum, Kishor Shrestha, said that this book is a success of the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Nepal and China. He also expressed gratitude to the Chinese experts who attended the program from far-flung provinces of China and helped make it a success.
At the end of the program, there was a question and answer session and a poem recited by Suhau, who is fond of Nepali art and literature.
The book, published on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Nepal and China, incorporates various dimensions including the treaties and agreements signed between the two countries.
The Ministry has also highlighted that the grant provided by China in the establishment of Nepal Rastra Bank has acted as a backbone.
The book also contains the fact that China has invested in Nepal in the past 70 years and also critiques its contribution to the development of Nepal’s physical infrastructure. According to this book, Chinese businessmen have invested more than Rs 224 billion in foreign currency in 2,448 businesses and projects in Nepal as of May 2080/81.
