Janakpurdham. The Janakpurdham Customs Office suffered damages worth Rs 13.87 crore during the protest.
Man Bahadur Poudel, chief of the office, said that two buildings of the office, employees’ quarters and vehicles were torched and vandalized near the railway station in Janakpurdham. Two vans, 315 motorcycles put up for auction, a private truck, furniture, computers, printers and other materials were destroyed in the fire.
According to Poudel, the robbers looted clothes, documents and money from the employees’ residence. During a regular service operation and damage review meeting organized by the District Administration Office, Dhanusha at Janakpurdham today, Chief of Customs Office Poudel presented the details of the condition of his office and the damages.
According to Poudel, customs clearance has been started from the small customs office under the office. Under this office, Bhadariya Small Customs Office, Inaruwa Small Customs Office and Jatahi Small Customs Office are in operation. The Jakpurdham Customs Office is out of operation due to vandalism and arson.
On the occasion, Chief District Officer Shankarhari Acharya directed the government offices to work for the people in a smooth and easy manner.
