Kathmandu. An insurance claim of Rs 23.39 billion has been received from the vandalism and arson of the Genji movement on September 7 and 24 in protest against corruption and misgovernance.
According to the Nepal Insurance Authority, 2,988 insurance claims have been received from 18 companies as of September 22. According to NEA, insurance claims worth Rs 23.39 billion have been received for 2,988 insurance policies.
Siddhartha Premier Insurance has the highest claim of Rs 5.45 billion for 307 insurance premiums. Similarly, The Oriental Insurance has received claims of Rs 5.23 billion for 86 policies.
IGI Prudential Insurance has earned Rs 2.79 billion for 196 units and Shikhar Insurance has earned Rs 2.39 billion for 397 policies.
Similarly, Sagarmatha Lumbini Insurance has earned Rs 1.57 billion for 322 policies, Himalayan Everest Insurance has earned Rs 1.23 billion for 261 policies, Neco Insurance has earned Rs 1.12 billion for 229 insurance policies and Rastriya Insurance has collected Rs 906.8 million for 375 policies.
Sanima GIC Insurance has collected Rs 84.44 crore for 152 policies, United Ajod Insurance has claimed Rs 53.20 crore for 205 policies, Nepal Insurance has claimed Rs 480.2 million for 92 policies, NLG Insurance has collected Rs 510 million for 190 insurance policies and Prabhu Insurance has collected Rs 20.49 crore for 109 policies.
According to NEA, National Insurance has claimed Rs 68.9 million for 22 insurances, Protective Micro Life Insurance Rs 1.15 crore for 10 insurances, Star Micro Insurance for 9 insurance covers Rs 72 lakhs, Trust Micro Insurance for 9 insurance policies worth Rs 44 lakhs and Nepal Makro for 17 insurances.
