Gorkha. Gorkha: A total of 12 prisoners who escaped from various prisons of the country during the Genji demonstration have been arrested from Gorkha. According to the District Police Office, seven inmates of Kaski prison and three inmates of Jagannath Deval Central Prison were arrested.
Chief of District Police Office and Superintendent of Police (SP) Bharat Bahadur BK said that one prisoner who escaped from Tanahun prison and one prisoner who escaped from Juvenile Correction Centre in Sanothimi, Bhaktapur were also arrested and sent to the concerned prison and correction centre after fulfilling the required process.
Those arrested are Bikram Nepali, Tenzing Rigdel Lama, Chhewang Rijin Lama, Sonam Lyaljen Lama, Baburam Nepali, Rajesh Bishwakarma Sunar and Sonama Dorje Lama, according to SP BK.
Bharat Thakuri, Suman Sundas and Bhuwan Tamang, who escaped from Jagannath Dewal Central Prison, have been arrested and sent to concerned prison. Police also arrested Bishal Uperkoti who escaped from Tanahun prison and Sushma Magrati from Juvenile Correction Home in Sanothimi, Bhaktapur.
Superintendent of Police (SP) BK said that all the arrestees have been kept in the detention cell of the District Police Office, Gorkha for some time and sent to the concerned prison after fulfilling the legal process. “Most of those arrested from Gorkha are from Gorkha and some belong to outside the district,” he said. He added that the search for the inmates is underway as details of the inmates who escaped during the demonstration are being collected.
