Kathmandu. Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) has issued a notice to the consumers who have taken electricity supply from dedicated feeders and truck lines to pay the outstanding electricity bills.
Earlier, NEA’s Board of Directors meeting held on September 26 had decided to pay the outstanding electricity tariff within 21 days. However, now the notice has been corrected and the remaining arrears have been cleared by October 2.
According to the NEA, the counters will remain open even on public holidays. Similarly, the payment can also be made through electronic means till October 2.
Earlier, the Authority had issued a notice stating that consumers willing to pay the amount in monthly installments will be provided with a maximum of 28 months. The Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) has stated that action will be taken as per the Electricity Tariff Collection Bylaw, 2078 if the arrears are not paid within the stipulated time.
The notice was published on Baisakh 26, 2082 and Baisakh 10, 2082 for administrative review by mid-June 2082 to the consumers who had outstanding electricity tariff from January 2015 to Baisakh 2075 for consuming electricity through the dedicated feeder and trunk line of NEA.
“The decision to extend the deadline and all actions related to administrative review are null and void as per the decision of the Board of Directors on September 26,” the statement reads.
