Saptari. The floods triggered by the incessant rainfall have affected normal life here. Over 500 houses have been inundated and 1,156 people have been affected due to floods in Triyuga, Khando, Koshi and Jita rivers.

Normal life of the locals has been disturbed due to floods in the settlements on the banks and riverbanks of the district. Over two hundred houses in different wards of Saptakoshi municipality have been inundated by the flood in the Triyuga River. Bochai village of ward-6 has been inundated after the river overflowed following heavy rainfall. Chief District Officer Tubaraj Pokharel said that the families of the six families have been kept safe at the National Basic School, Bochai after the collapse of six houses in the ward.
According to the District Police Office, 256 families have been affected by floods in nine other places of the district. Water has entered 15 houses in Dakneshwari Municipality-9 of the district. According to Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Dambar Bahadur Puri of the District Police Office, 40 houses in Hanumannagar Kankalini Municipality-12, Rajgadh Rural Municipality-6 and Tilathi Koiladi Rural Municipality-1 were inundated by the flooded Khando river.
A total of 15 houses in Tilathi Koiladi-4, 11 houses have been inundated in Hanumannagar Kankalini-14. A team led by Superintendent of Police (SP) Gautam KC rescued 38 people from different places of the district. According to DSP Puri, 12 people were rescued from Saptakoshi Municipality-6, eight from Hanumannagar Kankalini-12, seven from Rajgadh Rural Municipality-6 and 11 from Tilathi Koiladi-4.
