3 arrested with drugs from different places of Siraha

Head. Police have arrested three persons in possession of banned drugs from different places here. Of the arrested, two were arrested from Gol Bazaar area while one from Madar area, police said.

Acting on a special tip-off, a joint team from Area Police Office, Golbazaar, and Narcotics Control Bureau Section Office, Golbazaar intercepted the motorcycle (State 2-01-001 Pa 3026) en route to Gumba Chowk from Menchowk at Durga Mandir in Golbazaar municipality-6 at around 11 pm on Saturday and found drugs resembling brown heroin, according to Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Ramesh Bahadur Pal.

The seized drugs weighed 17 grams 540 milligrams including plastic and 15 grams were pure except plastic, he said. The arrested have been identified as Sunil Sah, 29, of Golbazaar Municipality-7 and Bishnu Dev Yadav, 24, of Dhangadhimai Municipality-7. Police have impounded the motorcycle along with the arrested persons and further investigation is underway.

Acting on a tip-off, a team from Area Police Office, Madar had spotted a group transporting cannabis towards Nepal-India border near Paterwa village of Siraha Municipality-17 at around 9:00 pm the same night. 64 people were found with plastic from the spot. Police confiscated 9 kilograms of marijuana.

Shreechan Mandal, 55, of Madhubani district in Bihar of India was arrested while trying to escape and a search is on for other absconding people, said Deputy Superintendent of Police Pal. Police have launched further investigation into both the incidents, DSP Pal informed.
