Saptari. A priest at the Kabir Baba Temple at Rajakpatti of Bodebarsain municipality-8 in Saptari district was found murdered this morning. An unidentified assailant shot and killed 73-year-old priest Ram Dular Sah at 2.00 am today, said Ram Sundar Sah, a family member of the priest.

Sah, the priest of the temple on the eastern side of the village, had built a hut and lived alone. The unidentified group took the priest out of the road and shot him in the back.

Locals had informed the Kachanali police post within a few minutes of the incident. Police teams from the District Police Office and Area Police Office, Kadarbona have also reached the area and started investigations.

Two bullet casings were recovered from the incident site, police said. The body has been sent to Dharan-based BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences for post-mortem, said Gautam Kumar KC, chief of District Police Office, Saptari. According to him, checking of suspicious persons has been intensified in the border areas.
