Kathmandu. A helicopter has crashed in Lobuche area of Solukhumbu district. Gyanendra Bhul, spokesperson of the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN), said that the helicopter of Altitude Air 9N-MS skidded off the snow and crashed at Lobuche of Solukhumbu on Wednesday morning.
The helicopter slipped on the snow during landing. According to Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Manojit Kunwar of District Police Office, Solukhumbu, the accident took place at 7.50 am at Lobuche of Khumbu Pasang Lhamu rural municipality-5.
The helicopter skidded off the helipad while trying to land. “There were no passengers. He slipped while landing on the helipad. Pilot Bibek Khadka is safe. He has already returned to Lukla in another helicopter,” DSP Kunwar said.
