Pashupati Area Development Trust not to be made political recruitment centre: PM Karki

. KATHMANDU — Prime Minister Sushila Karki has said the Pashupati Area Development Trust (PADT) should not be made a political recruitment centre. Addressing the Board of Directors meeting of the PADT here today, she said that political cadres should not be recruited as religious people are required in religious institutions.
There is a legal provision that the Pashupati Area Development Trust (PADT) Board of Directors will be chaired by the Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation to operate and supervise all the activities of the PADT.TAG_OPEN_div_8 Prime Minister Karki chaired the meeting as he is also the tourism minister.

Pashupatinath is a place of faith for Hindus all over the world. It is wrong to recruit one’s party cadres in such an organization and try to keep them in the shadow of politics. Politics should not be allowed to cast a shadow on Pashupatinath. It should not be a recruitment centre for party workers. The people working here must be religious. There is no need to increase the faith of politics by staying in a religious institution. Here, religious faith should be enhanced. ’
