Stock market steady, trading volume declines

Kathmandu. The stock market remained stable on Thursday, the last trading day of the week. On Thursday, the NEPSE index increased by 0.31 points to close at 2,544.91 points. On this day, the sensitive index decreased by 0.15 points, while the float index decreased by 0.04 points and the sensitive float index decreased by 0.06 points.

Although the stock market has risen, the trading volume has decreased on this day. Shares worth Rs 3.84 billion were traded on the previous trading day on Wednesday, while shares worth Rs 3.49 billion were traded on Thursday.

Out of 13 sub-groups, the indices of seven sub-groups increased on Thursday. The index of the remaining 6 sub-groups decreased. Banking, finance, hotel and tourism, hydropower, microfinance, mutual fund and business sub-group indices increased slightly.

Shares of 5 companies traded today at a positive circuit level. Shares of Mabilung Energy, Shweta Ganga Hydropower and Construction, Sagar Distillery, Bungal Hydro and Bandipur Cable Car and Tourism were traded in positive circuit level on the day. Shares of Nepal Micro Insurance Company Ltd. fell by 4.82 percent today.

On the basis of transaction amount, Himalayan Power Partners is in the highest position on this day. Today, the company’s shares worth Rs 16.80 crore were traded. Today, shares worth Rs 140 million of Himalayan Distillery were traded while the turnover of Union Hydropower has crossed Rs 13 crore.
