. Deputy Governor of Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) Bam Bahadur Mishra has said that the stock market can be the safest sector for banks and financial institutions to invest in loans.
Addressing the ‘World Investors Week 2025’ organized by the Securities Board Nepal here today, Minister Khatiwada said that the investment made by the banks in the share market is safe in terms of risk.TAG_OPEN_p_7
According to him, even if the share price fluctuates, the sector is considered safer than other sectors as banks can easily manage risk through ‘margin calls’.TAG_OPEN_p_6 “The bank can secure the loan on the basis of the price at which the transaction is being conducted,” he said.
Deputy Governor Mishra also clarified that the government has been bringing the situation of overheating in the stock market under control through policy adjustments.TAG_OPEN_p_5
