Kathmandu. The Embassy of Bangladesh in Nepal has celebrated Vijay Diwas 2025.
Also speaking on the occasion, Bangladeshi Ambassador to Nepal Mohammad Shafiqur Rahman said the July people’s movement had helped fulfill the unfulfilled dreams of liberation war. He also called on all the Bangladeshis to contribute from their respective places in building democracy, equality, justice and corruption-free ‘Bangladesh 2.0’.
SAARC Secretary General Mohammad Golam Sarwar shed light on the historical significance of the Victory Day. He called upon all to preserve the spirit of the liberation struggle. He called for collective efforts to build a non-discriminatory and inclusive Bangladesh by utilizing the opportunities created after the July-August 2024 people’s movement.
The event was attended by Mr. Hay Ambe, Ambassador of Bangladesh to Nepal, Mr. Mohammad Golam Sarwar, Secretary General of SAARC Secretariat, Bangladeshi officials working in SAARC Secretariat, representatives of Biman Bangladesh Airlines Nepal Office, members of Bangladeshi community in Nepal, distinguished personalities and businesspersons from Nepal.
Players and officials of Bangladeshi women’s football club Nasreen Sports Academy, who is currently in Kathmandu, also participated in the program.
A cultural programme was the main attraction of the Victory Day celebrations. Students of a local art school in Kathmandu performed a dance and song based on Bengali and Nepali music. Singer Saraswati Khatri of Sur Sudha Music Group made the event more attractive by presenting Bengali and Nepali songs.
