Jhapa. The Mechi Customs Office has collected the highest revenue from the import of petroleum products in the first five months of the current fiscal year 2082/83.
Revenue of Rs 3.80 billion was collected from the import of petroleum products during the period.
Information Officer at the Office Ishwor Kumar Humagain said that 11,028 kilolitres of petroleum products worth Rs 7.84 billion were imported in the first five months of the current fiscal year. According to him, petroleum products accounted for 55.80 per cent of the total revenue collection of the office.
Similarly, readymade garments made up 4.14 per cent, transport vehicles and their spare parts 3.68 per cent and vegetables 3.4 per cent. 40 percent revenue was collected from cement clinker and 3.30 percent revenue was collected from cement clinker.
