More than 2 years of budget was damaged due to Genji agitation, private sector has raised legitimate demands: Former Finance Minister Dr Mahat

Kathmandu. Former Finance Minister Prakash Sharan Mahat has said that looting and arson during the Genji movement was very wrong. He said that such tendency should be stopped and the rule of law should be followed by all.

claimed that in the name of the Genji movement, there was a loss equivalent to the budget of 2 fiscal years. Similar protests have also taken place in Sri Lanka and Bangladesh, he said, adding that no such damage has been reported.

He said that due to social media in Nepal, expectations are increasing. He said that the environment has not been easy for any government. He suggested that any person in the government should work honestly.

He said that the morale of the private sector has dropped if those who violate the law are released.
