Kathmandu. The Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) is constructing a 400 KV new Butwal-Lamahi electricity transmission line.
The 161-kilometer-long transmission line is being constructed to evacuate electricity to the west of eastern Nepal and to evacuate power from power projects to be built in the Gandaki corridor.
The NEA is implementing the project in Nawalparasi, Rupandehi, Palpa, Kapilvastu, Arghakhanchi and Dang districts of Lumbini Province. Necessary suggestions and suggestions have been published for the preparation of the environmental study (preliminary environmental audit) report in the affected areas of the transmission line.
The transmission line with a total capacity of 400 KV has been assigned a 46-meter area. The jurisdiction of the transmission line will be 23 meters right and 23 meters left from the center. There will be altogether 405 towers in the transmission line. Similarly, substation of 400-220-132 and 33-11 kV will be constructed at Rihar of Lamahi Municipality-9 of Dang.
It is stated that the NRA is going to determine the impact on the natural physical system, biological system, social system, cultural and economic system of the area while preparing the environmental study report. The NRA has also urged the stakeholders to provide necessary information, suggestions and consultations regarding the impact of the projects in the region.
It has also asked the NRA to provide opinions, suggestions and suggestions regarding the environmental proposal to the central office of the NRA and consultant NEA Engineering Company Limited, Lalitpur.
