Fraud on the pretext of getting work permits has increased in the UK, the embassy urges to be vigilant

Britain. The Nepali Embassy in London has urged the people to remain alert in view of the increasing cases of fraud in the pretext of providing work permits in the UK.

Issuing a press release, the Embassy has urged the people to stay away from the fraud as the complaints of Nepali being cheated in the pretext of seeking sponsors for the work have increased. According to the embassy, a large number of people who want to come to the UK from Nepal have complained of being cheated.

The embassy has stated that complaints are increasing that some Nepalis in the UK but looking for work have also been cheated. “It is understood that some of the fraudsters are of Nepali origin and have also received complaints of fraudsters who have come in contact with people from third countries through known Nepalis,” the statement reads.

As such crimes are punishable both in Nepal and in the UK, the embassy has suggested that the local police in the UK and the National Anti-Fraud Network (Action Fraud) can file a complaint if faced by them.

Nepal’s Charge d’ Affaires to the UK Bipin Duwadi said the Embassy was ready to facilitate for justice to the victims who come with evidences. The embassy has urged Nepalis in distress to contact the Embassy at 44-7404939274.
