Kathmandu. Patan High Court has issued an order not to elect a new executive committee of NADA Automobiles Association of Nepal. A division bench of Justices Tanka Prasad Gurung and Tejendra Prasad Sharma Sapkota issued the order on Thursday to postpone the NADA election program.

NADA had held its general assembly on December 24 and made public the election schedule on December 23. According to the schedule, the candidacy registration was scheduled on May 17. A total of 25 candidates had filed their candidacies for the 25-member working committee that day.

Outgoing General Secretary Surendra Upreti had filed his candidacy for the post of president. Other office-bearers and members were also unopposed. NADA was scheduled to announce the election of the new working committee, which was unopposed, on Friday.

The then member of the NADA Working Committee, Akash Golchha, had moved the court on December 20 demanding to stop the general assembly held on December 9 without the election schedule.

In his writ petition, the High Court has asked for the documents adopted in the general assembly and election process. The court has not set a deadline for the filing of the file. Another date for the hearing has not been set. As a result, the process of selecting a new leadership in NADA has become uncertain.
