Kathmandu. Minister for Land Management, Cooperatives and Poverty Alleviation, Kumar Ingnam, has said that the troubled cooperative management committee has not been able to work at a fast pace.
During a discussion with the victims at the Ministry in Singha Durbar, he said that the committee has not been able to work as per the aspirations of the victims.
“This committee has not been able to work at a pace that meets the aspirations of the victims,” Ingnam said. More than Rs 45 billion has to be managed in 23 cooperatives and a seven-member committee cannot work immediately to manage such a huge amount. I feel that the committee has not been able to work fast due to lack of authority but experience. ”
Stating that the committee has been given the authority to make statements and confiscate the property, he stressed that the committee itself should take the initiative to work accordingly and all others should cooperate in it.
Stating that Rs 4.12 billion has been managed so far, Minister Ingnam said, “There are still a large number of victims of 20 troubled cooperatives. About 74,307 victims are still alive. It seems that a committee of seven will take a little longer to manage their huge amount of money, this one committee alone will not solve the problem quickly. ”
On the occasion, the cooperative victims urged the minister to resolve their problems as soon as possible.
