Kathmandu. KATHMANDU: Kamana Sewa Bikas Bank has decided to provide research grants to the research students pursuing MPhil and Masters level. The programme is aimed at students pursuing MPhil in Economics and Management and Masters in Management, Economics, Computer Science and Information Technology.
According to the bank, two MPhil students will be provided research grant of Rs 1 lakh each for carrying out research in various areas related to banking and economy. Similarly, four research students pursuing Master’s Degree in Management, Economics, Computer Science and Information Technology will be provided with grant of Rs 50,000 each to carry out research work on banking, economy and information technology.
Students interested in receiving the grant should submit a research proposal to the bank by March 14, 2026 along with the recommendation of the concerned college. A selection committee consisting of experts in the concerned subject will evaluate the proposal and select the students to receive the grant.
The research work carried out by the students should be reliable, data-based and original from the national and international perspective. According to Dinesh Thakali, CEO of NMB Bank, this research grant will further support the research students pursuing MPhil and Masters level.
Kamana Sewa Bikas Bank has started this program after Nepal Rastra Bank made an arrangement to provide research grants under the title of Corporate Social Responsibility to the students of universities and colleges for research and research work. Kamana Sewa Bikas Bank has become the first financial institution to provide research grants as per the provisions of Nepal Rastra Bank.
