Mahalaxmi Bikas Bank Announces ‘Mahalaxmi Magh Mahotsav’ Digital Promotion Month

KATHMANDU: Mahalaxmi Bikas Bank Limited (Mahalaxmi Bikas Bank) has announced to promote digital transactions, enhance customer convenience and promote safe and cashless banking transactions. As per the bank’s decision to celebrate the month of Magh every year as Digital Transaction Promotion Month, the bank has started celebrating the “Mahalaxmi Magh Mahotsav”.

The bank has added various attractive features to its digital services to increase the number of transactions in the daily transactions by more than 80%. Among the various facilities, the mobile app “Mahalaxmi Smart Saathi” will provide higher interest rates while opening the case.

Under this scheme, customers opening a fixed account through mobile app will get an interest rate of 0.25 percent higher than the interest rate provided by the bank on personal deposits. The bank will provide interest on the individual fixed accounts opened through the Smart Sathi app subject to the regulation of the interest rate determination of Nepal Rastra Bank.

Similarly, to make the ‘Mahalaxmi Magh Mahotsav’ more enthusiastic, there will be 100% discount on virtual and general credit card issuance and annual fees. Also, 100 percent discount will be provided on debit card issue and mobile banking registration. Customers will get 20 percent of the bill amount or Rs. 1000 when they pay the pharmacy bill through the mobile app. You will get a cashback of up to Rs 200.

There will also be no charge for registering “Koili”, which provides information about whether payment has been received through audio. This campaign will be applicable only for the month of Magh 2082. The bank believes that this kind of campaign will contribute to increase the accessibility of banking services, expand digital services and reduce the need for physical presence at the bank. The bank believes that this campaign will help promote digital transactions as the limit of cash transactions is decreasing.

The bank has 103 branches and more than 8 lakh customers all over the country. The bank has already partnered with FonePay to enable the citizens of India to scan the QR code provided by the bank through Indian payment service providers like BHIMPAY, UPI, FonePay, Google Pay, etc.
