Nepalis living in the US donate Rs 9 lakh to reconstruction fund

Kathmandu. Nepalese Association of South East America (NACIA), a social organization of Nepalis living in the United States, has donated around Rs 9 lakh to Nepal Reconstruction Fund.

Treasurer of NASIA, Puran Raj Khatiwada, handed over a cheque of USD 6,128 to Prime Minister Sushila Karki at the Prime Minister’s official residence in Baluwatar today. He said the money was collected for the relief and rehabilitation of the families of the youths who were martyred in the Genji movement and handed over to the government.

Receiving the cheque, PM Karki thanked the Nasiya family for contributing the amount collected while living abroad to the Reconstruction Fund. She also praised the Nepalis living abroad for their support when Nepal is in a difficult time.

“When we are in trouble here, there is any disaster or epidemic, you all stay abroad and worry about it. He helps by collecting money. This is Nepaliness. After all, our country is our own. ”
