Kathmandu. As of mid-January of the current fiscal year, 20 commercial banks have earned a net interest of Rs 96.05 billion.
In the same period last year, the net interest income of 20 banks increased by 3.72 percent. The banks’ net interest income stood at Rs 92.60 billion as of mid-January of the last FY. Out of the 20 banks, the net interest income of six banks has decreased while the remaining banks have increased.
The net income of Global IME Bank, Nepal Investment Mega Bank, Himalayan Bank, Nepal, NIC Asia Bank and Standard Chartered Bank posted a decline in net interest income today.
The remaining 14 banks have increased. Nabil Bank is the highest net interest earner in the world. Nabil Bank has earned a net profit of Rs 8.08 billion. It was 2.42 percent more than the same period last year.
Similarly, Global IME Bank has earned a net interest income of Rs 8.02 billion. This is 3.33 percent less than the same period last year.
Similarly, the net interest income of Kumar Bank increased by 27.65 percent to Rs 6.78 billion, Nepal Investment Mega Bank by 12.83 percent to Rs 6.42 billion, Rastriya Commercial Bank by 38.49 percent to Rs 6.10 billion and Laxmi Sunrise Bank by 1.14 percent to Rs 5.24 billion. Prabhu Bank surged 2.38 per cent to Rs 4.98 billion while NMB Bank surged 12.18 per cent to Rs 4.77 billion.
Similarly, Himalayan Bank Ltd (10.19 per cent), Prime Bank (5.30 per cent) to Rs 4,6533,14,000, Everest Bank (5.96 per cent) to Rs 4.57 billion and Agricultural Development Bank (16.55 per cent) to Rs 4.51 billion. The share share of Nepal Bank (NBL) decreased by 3.97 percent to Rs 4.44 billion and that of NIC Asia Bank decreased by 15.87 percent to Rs 4.36 billion.
Likewise, Siddhartha Bank surged by 5.15 per cent to sit at Rs 4.32 billion, Sanima Bank by 19.26 per cent to Rs 3.42 billion, Citizen Bank by 2.28 per cent to Rs 3,1444 million, Machhapuchchhre Bank by 4.16 per cent to Rs 2.94 billion, Nepal SBI Bank by 11.67 per cent to Rs 2.56 billion and Standard Chartered Bank by 9.13 per cent It was worth Rs 974.21 million.
